GATEWAY SINGERS AT MCC
The Gateway Singers from Centerville and Ottumwa, Iowa, are a traveling worship team in their 41st year of ministry. They will be in concert at MCC on Sunday, September 5th, at 10:00 for our worship assembly.  Dave and Jan McSpadden and Don and Vikki Hunt have teamed together since 1969 to create some of the sweetest harmonious sounds in gospel music.  They are a two-family ministry, their wives being sisters.  Ministry has taken them to 45 states including Hawaii and Alaska, as well as to Puerto Rico, Mexico, and the Caribbean Islands.  They have recorded 20 albums available on eleven CDs.

The Gateways lead worship with a variety of music styles including acappella, old-time gospel, country, and contemporary.  They keep their volume level comfortable for everyone.  They will be leading our worship assembly and sharing the gospel through songs and testimony.  A free-will offering will be received for their ministry at the conclusion of the worship assembly.

SAINTS IN ACTION DAY AT CCCB
Central Christian College of the Bible in Moberly will host its annual special day for senior saints on Thursday, September 23rd.  This year’s theme is “Looking Upward” and will feature music by the David Melton Family.  Bill Walton, professor at CCCB, will be the morning speaker while the afternoon speaker will be Allen Schofield of Rolla.  Mr. Walton has been preaching for more than 50 years and has served at CCCB for the past forty.  Allen Schofield graduated from CCCB and serves with the campus ministry in Rolla.  A motorcycle accident in 2008 left Allen paralyzed and, as a result, he has faced many challenges.

The program begins with registration at 9:00 with the closing session starting at 1:15.  Cost for the day is $12 which includes a continental breakfast and lunch.  Registrations may be made through the church and are requested to be made by September 20th.  Tickets will be picked up the day of the event.  A free-will offering for full-tuition scholarships will be received.

WIENER ROAST AND ICE CREAM SUPPER
We will have our annual wiener roast, along with home made ice cream, on Sunday, September 12th, at 6:00 P.M.  Bring wieners, ice cream, and whatever you would like to have to go along with that menu and we’ll have a great time that evening.
Special guests will be Timmy and Rhonda Farris who ministered at MCC several years ago.  Come and welcome them back to MCC.

OLD TIME CAMP MEETING
Sunrise Christian Church will host an Old Time Camp Meeting on Saturday, September 11th.  Speakers will be Lloyd Pelfrey (“Where we were” – 1:00), Mark Kummer (“Where we are now” – 2:30) and Ron Oakes (“Where we are going” – 6:30).  There will be special music throughout the entire program and a whole hog roast meal at 5:00.  Everyone is invited.

CENTRAL MISSOURI CHRISTIAN EVANGELIZERS

The August meeting of CMCE was hosted by Callaway Christian Church in Fulton.  Ken Harland, preaching minister with the Capital West Christian Church in Jefferson City spoke on the subject of immersion as baptism.  Attending from MCC were Larry and Margaret Healy, Ivan Wineinger, and Dan and Gail Sites.
Sunrise Christian Church near Mexico will host this month’s meeting on Monday the 20th.  The meal will be served at 6:30 P.M. with the meeting and worship following.

The theme for 2010 is “The Restoration Movement” and will feature a biographical sketch of a Restoration Movement leader each month as well as a message that will explain some of our heritage in this movement.  This month’s speaker will be Craig Rippy from St. James who will preach on restoring the eldership.  Edgar Thomas of Centralia will give the history lesson on Edsil Dale.

Make every effort to attend each month’s meeting and learn more about our heritage in the Restoration Movement.  CMCE exists to help start and to encourage churches in the mid-Missouri area.

BIBLE STUDY RESUMES
Our mid-week Bible study program will resume on Wednesday, September 8th, at 7:00 P.M.  We will again be meeting at the home of Dan and Gail Sites in High Hill.  Everyone is invited and encouraged to be a part of this program.
A typical evening begins with a time of sharing and prayer followed by the study of God’s Word.  Refreshments are served as we conclude the evening together.  Drinks are provided by the hosts with others bringing snacks each week.
There are also some from the High Hill Christian Church who join us for this study and fellowship.  Plan on being a part of this time of spiritual renewal and growth.
